Eva's Dress...

A pillowcase dress

A lotta love goes into sewing =)

Now that Eva is a walker, she is ready for pillowcase dresses! I made one for KA a while back (which is now a shirt for her...because my slack self has never gotten around to taken it back to cville) and I couldn't wait to make one for Eva too! I think these dresses are soo stinkin cute and I can't wait to see her in it! Oh and this one only took about 2.5-3 hours start to finish THANK THE LORD...the last one took ALLLLL DAY! And Katie is a witness to that!

Yesterday we went to Gastonia, NC to meet up with the family to celebrate my grandmother's 85th birthday! It was way too short of a trip, but we had a great time seeing everyone! My grandmother's sisters, Alice and Kay, Harold (Kay's husband), Elise and Gary (Alice's daughter and her husband), Frank (mammie's cousin), my parents, Andy, Kari and the babies (Eva and James) and of course us and our babies all got together at a hotel to spend the night just hanging out and celebrating. We celebrated Alice's 79th bday, Mammie's 85th, and father's day all in one day =) Once we got there we all went out to the pool to lay out and swim. Eva loves the water and was soo stinkin cute (I forgot to bring my camera out..booo) and James took a dip as well! Then they went to Charlotte to stay with Kari's parents and we did the cake and presents thing when Andy and Kari got back from dropping off the kids. This morning my parents took us out for a big breakfast before we all hit the road. We had such a fun time and can't wait to see everyone again soon!!

"In The Summertime...

When the weather is fine..."
Cookout of course!!
\

Summer lovin =)

And then have a picnic =)

What a perfect end to a nice Sunday! After being gone all day from teaching Sunday School and Mammaw's party, we stopped on our way home to pick up stuff for burgers and decided to grill out on such a nice summer evening! We've been grilling out a lot lately (because Greg is AWESOME at it, so why cook when he can grill?) but tonight we chose to have a picnic in the back yard! It's such a beautiful day/night, why not enjoy it?! We've had a great weekend! It's been pretty relaxing which is always nice. Yesterday I got to catch up with a really good friend from high school (Megan) and apparently we needed it because we stayed at the restaurant and talked for 3 hours! I ran a few errands, did a few crafts, baked some cookies, and watched The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Taken with the hubby! Both of the movies were fantastic, however, grab the tissues for Benjamin Button!! Now I am finishing up some homework, enjoying a Sunday night in =)

Today was Greg's grandmother's 75th birthday party. We had it at our church in the beautiful theater! It was very nicely decorated and looked great! There was a slide show of pictures of Mammaw and the family running the whole time in the background which was really nice. Everything turned out great and there were several friends and family there! Happy 75th!!!

Candy Jar...

Another project on The Idea Room blog was this etched glass project. I thought this would make a great gift idea, so that's what the one I made is for. I found a plain glass candy jar and I spruced it up! It was soo easy and I can't wait to make some for our house! Or, perhaps on the big glass jars from my wedding, I can etch "crayons," "pencils," etc on them and put them in my future classroom. I also love the idea on the blog where she etched a pyrex dish! Anyhoo...here are some pics of the jar!

After...(without the truffles added in it)

Hand Soap!

I found the greatest craft blog and I saw this idea on there and thought it was too cute! There are SOOO many fantastic and easy ideas on there and I can't wait to try several! But this was so quick I wanted to do it today!

Today I took the kids I nanny for (Josiah, Gracie, and Kristen) to the Zoo for a summer field trip! It was so much fun and we were so glad that Katie and Katie Anne and Angie, Karis, and Laurel (the other family I nanny for) could come join us! Luckily it wasn't too terribly hot and it didn't rain! The kids enjoyed seeing all the animals and I can't wait to do some fun animal and animal habitat activities with the kids Friday and next week! We all had a great time but we were all exhausted afterward! Kristen was asleep before we left the parking lot and Gracie was about 5 minutes later! I needed a nap also, booo class =) Thanks everybody for going! Enjoy the pics =)
