Ten on Tuesday...

I forgot all about this until reading Erin's blog...so, here is my 10 on Tuesday...

1. From your childhood, what do you miss most about summer vacation?
Family beach trips to Ocean Isle and Myrtle Beach, playing outside with neighborhood friends, spending ALL day at the neighborhood pool where our lunch and dinner usually came from vending machine because we stayed that long, staying up late and the joy of not having to go to school the next morning, Vacation Bible School (attending and teaching), visiting friends at all hours of the night and thinking we were SO cool (high school still counts as childhood).
2. Are you going anywhere on vacation this summer?
We're going to Rosemeary Beach, FL with Greg's family and we will be taking a baby-moon vacation just the two of us, but we haven't decided where yet. Probably Savannah.
3. What foods do you like to barbecue?
Steaks, ribs, veggies, everything.
4. How do you celebrate the fourth of July?
For the past few years we have been celebrating it in Florida at the beach which has been a fun tradition.
5. What’s your favorite beverage to drink in the summertime?
Ice cold, sweet tea, lemonade, kool-aid, and pina-coladas (although I'll be passing on those for a while)
6. What movie are you looking forward to seeing this summer?
Hangover 2 and Bridesmaids
7. In the car: windows down or AC?
A/C if is 80+...windows down if the weather is decent
8. Have you ever had a summer fling?
Not really, I was typically in a relationship at the ages where I would've cared.
9. Do you wear sunscreen?
I'm getting better about it. Last summer was my summer of realization that I might get sun cancer so I better stop frying my skin with baby oil and put on some SPF 8 =) But I've stepped it up to SPF 30-50 this year.
10. Do you have any favorite summertime activities?
Spending all day at the pool, eating large quantities of watermelon, going to the beach, grilling out and eating outside.

16 weeks...

How Far Along: 16 weeks

Size of baby: an avocado=)

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Well, I wasn't able to escape the scale this month. The nurse said "it seems like we forgot to check your weight last time you were here, so let's start at the scale"...lame. Anyway, at that time it was only a 4lb gain...not too shabby! However, this was also a few weeks ago before I started eating like a sumo wrestler, so we'll see how that number changes in a few weeks!

Maternity Clothes: Are amazing. And I will wear them after the baby is born with no shame because I don't know if I can ever go back to buttoning a pair of pants...these are just too dang comfortable.

Gender: We find out 3 weeks from today!!! Our gender ultrasound is on June 16th, but we are going to ask them to put the results in an envelope and we are going to open it on Father's Day! We CANNOT wait and are both counting down the days!!

Movement: I'm not sure. I felt a flutter on Wednesday, but I wasn't 100% convinced that was the baby, so once I start feeling him/her more I will know if that was what I really felt.

What I miss: Two of these have stayed the same...

1) Normal sleep--tossing and turning ALL night and getting up to pee a countless times SUCKS
2) Caffeine- Ooooh how I long for my morning Tervis Tumbler of coffee. And yes, I know "You can still have 8oz", but this is my first pregnancy, so naturally I'm a freak about everything. So, no coffee for me. However, when I'm feeling like living on the dangerous side, I sneak a cup of sweet tea, then feel incredibly guilty about it and worry that our kid is going to be a nutcase.

Sleep: It's not great....as I sit here on a Sunday morning awake at 6am after falling asleep around 12:30 am and tossing and turning and peeing all night, however, it is better than it was last month. Baby steps.

Symptoms: I'm starting to get heartburn a lot more often, but hooray for no more throwing up!! I get out of breath and a bit dizzy a lot...which does wonders for not making me feel like a total fatty, but it's supposedly normal so I'm not going to worry about it. The beauty of round ligament pain has started...that's a blast! And to complain just a tiny bit more, my back is still hurting quite a bit, however my prenatal massage is in the morning!!

Cravings: Well, I'm happy to say my fruit cravings have come back. The problem is I eat incredible quantities of fruit...hence the entire canteloupe I ate the other night. After dinner. Embarrassing. I've also learned my lesson from eating too many grapes and too much watermelon! Along with my fruit craving I have been feening for italian food. Specifically a stromboli/calzone from Johnny's pizza. Mmmmm. I will admit, last week my appetite increased SIGNIFICANTLY and I literally could put a truck driver to shame. So hopefully that calms down soon so I do not end up 600lbs!

Best Moment this week: Greg surprising me with tickets to Wicked!!

What we are looking forward to: Finding out what we are having in just a few weeks!! We also can't wait to start working on the nursery soon!! So much exciting stuff in store =) Oh and my prenatal massage that is schedule for tomorrow!

Getting Ready and the WEDDING DAY!!

Friday was the big day! All the girls went to go get their nails done on Thursday, which was a good thing, because we spent 4 hours at the hair salon on Friday morning. It had been raining all morning, so we were nervous about the outside wedding, but it didn't get us down! Everyone, including the bride, was calm, cool, and collected all day! We all had so much fun just hanging out at the salon together, waiting to get our hair done. Greg got into town around 1, so he ended up hanging out with us for a while and it ended up being just me, him, and Jill while the stylists finished mine and Jill's hair and make-up. I'm pretty sure as much as the stylists kept complementing my husband, if I would have walked out for a minute she would've tried to steal him...back off woman, he's mine! However, he is super sweet and handsome so I don't blame them =) After getting dolled up, we went to the Veach beach house to finish getting ready and to have some pictures taken by Jill's dad. The afternoon flew by and before we knew it we were at the lighthouse waiting for the wedding to start! Because of all the rain earlier in the day, the ceremony couldn't be on the beach because of big trench of water at the bottom of the steps, so it was held on the grass behind the gazebo, overlooking the ocean...it was beautiful! It was finally time for the wedding to start and we were all excited! Jill looked stunning and Tyler looked so handsome! The ceremony went by so quickly and then the bridal party took some pictures while the guests had a cocktail hour with the steel drummer. When it was time for us to be introduced, Jill and Tyler told us to get jiggy with it because they picked out individual songs for each bridesmaid and groomsmen pair walking in. However, mine and Carlos' song didn't switch over in time, so I'm not sure what it was supposed to be. Jessica and Todd danced in to "Baby Got Back" which the did a great job at, Brandon and Breanna danced their heart out to "What time is it?(Summertime)" from High School Musical...it was hilarious, Rhett and Jackie came in to "Stanky Leg" which they full out danced to, and I don't remember the other songs! After we all ate the delicious food, the bride and groom had their first dance to (I think) a Kenny Chesney song. Then it was the Father-Daughter dance where they danced to "Georgia on My Mind" which was so sweet because Jill's parents live in Michigan. The Mother-Son dance was also a tear-jerker but I didn't know the song. The reception was a BLAST!! Seriously, one of the most fun weddings I've ever been to...AND I was sober haha! After a fun-filled night of dancing and cake, we all said goodbye to the newlyweds and then Greg and I went back to the condo to crash! It had a been a very long, very fun day and I was beat!! I am so very excited for Jill and Tyler! They are such a cute couple and I can't wait to watch their relationship grow even more now that they get to experience the awesomeness of marriage!

The Rehearsal Dinner...

The Wedding Party
On Thursday night we had the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner for the wedding. Luckily, it was low tide and we were able to go out on the beach, otherwise the water its up against the rocks that are behind us and we would've stayed on the grass. Everything went smoothly and we were able to head back to the Dilbeck's beach house for some amazing Mexican food (it was also Cinco de Mayo that day). Seriously... the food was fantastic! There was a fajita bar set up, fresh guacamole, chips and salsa on every table, this really yummy corn stuff, rice, beans, and a margarita station (that I couldn't partake in, but it was still neat). After we all sat outside in the nice weather and stuffed out faces, we went in for some sweet speeches and dessert. Around 10:30, Jill and I headed back to our condo to get to bed early and rest up for the big day =)

Jill's Bachelorette Party...

Me with the Bride-to-be
Last week I went to St. Simons Island, GA to celebrate my best friend's wedding. I flew in on Wednesday so that I would be there for the bachelorette party, and I am so glad I didn't miss out!! The night started at our condo with drinks (none for me thank you) and a few rounds of "Pin the Junk on the Hunk"...classy =) I will say...Jill and I tied for 1st place. After the game, Jill opened a few gifts, which I captured the awkwardness of opening lingerie in front of her
grandmother, mom, and mother-in-law...awesome!
Us bridesmaids also got to open the super cute bags that Jill had made for us that was filled with all kinds of Bath and Body Works goodies and a nice beach towel!
After gifts, we hit the town for some dinner and ended up at the Saltwater Cowboy. The wait was a bit ridiculous, but the food was good. And no worries, the time waiting was well spent with shots and mixed drinks...but considering Jill is newly employed, I'll keep everyone's reputation safe by not posting pics =) After dinner, everyone headed out to a club for some dancing...however, this preggo party pooper was pooped and went back to the condo to crash! It was such a fun night and I loved hanging out with Jill and her sisters!!

12 weeks...

....Erin, this is for you =)

How Far Along: 12 weeks

Size of baby: a plum =)

Total Weight Gain/Loss:I've decided it's best not to know =) I snuck out of the doctor's office at my last appointment so that I wouldn't have to be weighed...HAH! Then, of course, they will weigh me next week and say "woah fatty, slow it down" (even though the weight they will be looking at is from 9 weeks ago).

Maternity Clothes: Are amazing. And I will wear them after the baby is born with no shame because I don't know if I can ever go back to buttoning a pair of pants...these are just too dang comfortable.

Gender: either a boy/girl =)

Movement: Nothing yet

What I miss: Here's the deal- one of my biggest pet peeves in life is when a pregnant woman complains...I literally cannot stand it. This is such an incredible blessing that so many women never have the gift of experiencing and I think it is SO selfish of anyone to complain about such ridiculous things while pregnant...HOWEVER, with that being said, this will be just one of the many things I put my foot in my mouth on and have to eat my words because even at just the beginning I have a laundry list of things I miss. The top 3 are:

1) Normal sleep--tossing and turning ALL night and getting up to pee a countless times SUCKS
2) Caffeine- Ooooh how I long for my morning Tervis Tumbler of coffee. And yes, I know "You can still have 8oz", but this is my first pregnancy, so naturally I'm a freak about everything. So, no coffee for me. However, when I'm feeling like living on the dangerous side, I sneak a cup of sweet tea, then feel incredibly guilty about it and worry that our kid is going to be a nutcase.
3) Subs- I have craved a COLD sub since the day I found out I was pregnant. Now, I'm thinking it's just one of those things where since you say I can't have it I want it more, but I REALLY want one and have already planned this as my first post-baby meal.

Sleep: Please see above.

Symptoms: Compared to some of my friends, I've had it pretty easy (knock on wood)! I've gotten sick a few times and been nauseous a lot, but it could certainly be worse. I've found that as long as I'm eating I'm not nauseous...so I eat all the time and will surely pay for it in the end =)

Cravings: Initially I craved fruit and was so proud of myself for eating so healthy (fruits, green smoothies, veggies)...now grapes smell like someone has bathed them in tabasco sauce so I will not eat them. However, my current cravings have been equally as healthy...pizza and potato chips. Don't worry, I don't indulge these cravings as often as I did the fruit.

Best Moment this week: Greg having a come to Jesus meeting with me about me getting down about my weight...he seriously is the BEST husband in the world! And my friend Jill's wedding shower (and wedding later this week)!

What we are looking forward to: Going to St. Simons for my best friend's wedding and having another Dr. appt on Monday where we get to hear the heartbeat again! Such a cool thing! AND being over my first trimester on Sunday!! Woohoo!
