The end...

Well, today is the last day of NaBloPoMo!! This month seemed to go by so incredibly fast! November was a very busy month and December is even more packed....but I love the holidays =) I'll still be posting a bunch, just probably not everyday, but we'll see! However, next week is finals week so probably not much blogging time for me! For my last post I am leaving you with a few more pictures from our session with Sara...here is a link to her blog to see a few more. These are just a few of my favorites...

It's beginning...

...to look a lot like Christmas!!!

The tree is up and decorated, the presents are wrapped (the ones that are here), and the stockings are on the mantle! Christmas time here we come!! Christmas has always been a special holiday for me and probably my favorite one. This year will be the first year that I will not be celebrating our traditional family Christmas Eve celebration in NC with my side of the family. It's a little hard, but it's neat to make our own traditions as our own little family as well. Plus, this year will be the first year that we get to go to ALL of the family stuff on both sides of the family. So, on Christmas Eve, Greg and I will have the night to celebrate Christmas with each other by eating a big meal I plan on making and going to church at our church. On Christmas morning we will wake up and head to Greg's cousin's house for the extended family gathering. Then later in the afternoon, we will head to Cindy and Thomas' for the Glawson/Jones clan celebration. The next morning we will wake up bright and early and head to NC for my extended family's gathering at my aunt's house. Finally, on Sunday, we will celebrate with the Hatley/Glawson bunch...as you can see, this will be a busy, packed, but super fun holiday season!!! I love, love, love Christmas and I can't wait for all the baking, craft making, gift giving, and memory making that comes with such a special holiday!

Happy Thanksgiving...

** Check back for pictures from today**

We have had a long, fun, happy day with the family today! We went to my aunt's for the extended family Thanksgiving and ate waaay too much! It was fun spending time with everyone and playing with all the babies/kids. Afterwards, we went back to my grandmothers for more football and for dinner. It was FANTASTIC! We have a traditional menu and it stays the same every single year (and if you know me, then you know my love for tradition)...turkey, homemade dressing, herbed rice and giblet dressing, sweet potato pudding, fayes beans (green bean casserole), cranberry sauce, dilled brussle sprouts (that only dad, Kari, and mammie eat), and rolls, then pumpkin pie and pecan pie for dessert...SOOO GOOOD! Needless to say, I am still stuffed and feeling disgusted with myself for eating so much...but tis the season =) I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving as well! We have so much to be thankful for and we are so thankful for each and everyone of our friends and family members! I'm off to bed...3:30 a.m. is going to come early (Black Friday here I come)!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Wordy Wednesday...

I don't have any pictures to post yet...gasp! This morning we headed out early to a few stores to map out our Black Friday shopping plan...yes...it's that serious haha. After we got back Greg and I got ready to go to Wake Forest to have our pictures taken by a girl my mom used to work with and a friend of our friend Leah, Sara. She was SOOO sweet and we had a great time taking pictures! I cannot wait to get them back! Tonight we are going to dinner with the family and then going to go see "A Christmas Carol" at Imax...what a fun night! While I am here, I probably won't be posting things of much interest, so we'll be home on Saturday with a good picture post =)

While I have time...

Since we are leaving tomorrow for NC, I wanted to go ahead and write my "Things I'm Thankful for List" in case I don't have a ton of time to blog while we're there =)

I have a ton to be thankful for this year so prepare yourself =)

TOP 5:

1) My absolutely incredible husband. Seriously, I am the luckiest woman on this planet. He is so good to me and is the best husband. I've seen friends deal with so many issues this year, and we are not perfect by any means and have had our share of ups and downs, but I have realized how blessed I am to have a husband who loves me the way Greg does and that provides for us to the extent that he does. He is my rock and my best friend and I am so very appreciative of his love =)

2) Our two cute, furry babies =) We love our dogs and are thankful that we have two of the sweetest pups in the world !
3) Both of us having jobs. We are so thankful that despite the economic turmoil our country is experiencing, we both still have our jobs and have not really been affected by the devastating events that so many families in our nation are experiencing. There are days that are hard in both of our jobs, but every day we are reminded that we are lucky to have a job to complain about and that we honestly have absolutely nothing to complain about. Plus, I have the best job in the world so...I really can't complain at all! We have been incredibly blessed and we try very hard not to take things for granted.
4) Our wonderful parents. Greg and I are both blessed with kind, loving families that we are so thankful to have in our lives. We are both thankful for parents who still love each other and who have both been married for so long. They are both such great examples of what a great marriage should like and we are so glad to have that model for us.
5) Our siblings and their families. We are both close to our siblings and we are thankful for our relationship with them! We are also very thankful for our super cute, healthy nieces and nephew. We love them all very much!

Here's the rest of my list but without pictures =)

6) Almost being finished with this semester of classes! It has been a rough one and I am glad I have almost most made it out alive and with decent grades =)

7) Our health. Greg and I both have remained fairly healthy this year and I am so thankful for that, especially considering all the stuff that has gone around and the Swine Flu.

8) Our Nweds group. Being a part of this group as been one of the greatest things for our relationship. We are have been blessed with so many new friends that support us and love us just as we do for them and we have bonded with so many couples!

9) My girlfriends. This semester there have been several girls nights (movie watching and dinners) and it has been SO much fun! I am thankful to have such good friends in my life who are going through the stress of school with me =)

10) Our home. We are so fortunate to have a roof over our heads each night and not have to worry about where we will sleep each night. Now more than ever, we are thankful for this!

The list could go on, but for time and boredom's sake I will stop at 10. Needless to say I have a lot to be thankful for and we are undeservingly, continuously blessed beyond measure. As mentioned above, we try very hard not to take things for granted and remind ourselves that none of this is of our own doing, it is all what God has given us and we should be eternally greatful for all He has given us. We love you all and are very thankful to have you in our lives =)

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Glawson Thanksgiving...

Tonight we celebrated Thanksgiving with a delicious meal at Cindy and Thomas'! Because of all the upcoming turkey dinners for everyone, Cindy decided to make a non-traditional Thanksgiving dinner and it was fantastic! We had fried beef tenderloin, caesar salad, pinto beans, mashed potatoes, and rolls. For dessert we had a fantastic apple pie with ice cream and hot buttered rum to drink.

MMmmm...
After dinner we headed into the living for some Wii Resort games and coloring! Very fun! We just all hung out and talked and played...what a fun Thanksgiving celebration!! Something that made this night super special were the turkey hats Katie Anne made everyone (pictured in the group shot above)! They were so cute and it made us feel special to get one =)

The Glawson Turkeys

Greg's turkey had a few problems lol

The Jones Turkeys

The other Glawson turkeys (just without the feathers...I forgot to get a picture with their hats on)

And me in my new shirt Greg bought me today =)
We had such a great time! Thanks for the wonderful meal and the super cute hats! We are very thankful for such a loving family (on both sides)!

Congrats Megan and Dusty...

Today my good friend Megan, from high school, got married! It was a beautiful wedding and she looked gorgeous!! I couldn't figure out how to take a good picture in during the ceremony because of the lighting (everything kept coming out blurry), but her dress and the bridesmaids dresses were soo incredibly pretty! After the wedding, we headed to the reception in downtown Rome. I LOVE Broad Street at night...so pretty! The reception was beautifully decorated in red, black, and white. There were a couple of girls from high school there so it was neat getting to see them and catching up. Two of us were married (and she's expecting a baby girl in April) and the others are finishing up school in Rome. It was a fun night and I am glad I was able to be a part of such a special day!

So pretty!

I loved this dress!

Oh yeah...

...it was worth it!
It was worth the wait to see it and worth the time standing in line with all the teenybopper crazies...we got to see New Moon! Tonight we went out with some friends for dinner and to see the movie. Holly bought our tickets a week ago so that we would be guaranteed a spot and it's a good thing she did because it was PACKED. We all met at O'Charleys beforehand and then headed to the theater an hour and a half early....and it was SO worth it. Our seats were perfect, we all got to sit together, and we didn't have to stand in the line that was packed full of people for too terribly long. I'm not going to talk about the movie because I don't want to ruin it, but it is better than the first. New Moon was my least favorite book from the series but it was a really good movie. It was such a fun night out...even if Greg and Chris were 2 out of maybe 5 guys in the whole theater =) Now we're headed to bed...maybe I'll dream about vampires...or perhaps werewolves...I may be changing sides =)

Us at dinner

Jennifer and Chad

At the movies!

with allll these people (this is the line waiting to be let into New Moon)

Don't let the face fool you...he enjoyed it =)

Creative Writing...

This letter was written to me from Gracie (the first grader I nanny for) on Friday, after I told her I was done tutoring my student for the semester. It took me a couple of times of reading this to realize what she did. The letter reads (if spelled correctly):

Dear Jillian,
I'm sure you're going to miss tutoring and so I wanted to write you a letter for you to read that said...

I kept wondering what it said...then I saw the arrow. There is an arrow that circles the words and starts back at the beginning of the letter so that the note repeats itself. I found this to be hilarious!! You may or may not but I thought I'd share. Kids crack me up =)
