What a day....

Well, yesterday was quite the eventful day! I got a phone call from Greg around 5 saying "Please you not panic, but someone pulled out in front of me and I laid the bike down. I am okay, do not panic." So...of course I paniced and rushed to Marietta to the exit he was at so that I could follow him the rest of the way home. The bike was a little messed up, headlight broken, sideview mirror gone, and scratches but Greg was perfectly fine, just shaken up. So, he rode between me and an officer for a little ways until he got in fron of me for me to follow him the rest of the way home. About a mile from our house a car pulls out of the Publix parking lot while looking the other direction and causes Greg to wreck...AGAIN!!! This time, I got to see the whole thing! It was literally the most terrifying moment of my life! Thank GOD that Greg was wearing all of his safety gear, it truly saved his life!! The bike is totalled but Greg is okay and that is all that matters!!! He has a big goosegg on his hip from landing so hard on it, some road rash, and is just extrememly sore, but other than that he is ok. I just know that he is also extremely upset because most of you know how badly he wanted that motorcycle and he only had it for about 60 days!! I am just SOOOOO glad he is okay and I hope we never experience anything like that again!! Thank you all who were praying for us last night and please continue to as he heals physically and emotionally (not having the bike nor probably never having one again is extrememly upsetting to him...however, he knows how lucky he was this time around)! I have finals today but other than that I have the day off to play nurse so we will both be taking it easy for a few days!

This makes you think...

Helen showed me this video today and it really took me by surprise. Of course I know there is hunger in the world and of course I know that situations like this movie portrays exist. However, I cannot get over how blessed we are and how undeserving we are of it! Just seeing the faces of the children light up as their dad brought home a garbage can of strangers' scraps was heartbreaking. And to see them pray over those scraps before eating and seeing how thankful they were for what they had was so inspiring. I am just SOO thankful that we are so truly blessed and taken care of!

Weekend update...

This weekend has been fun, relaxing, and busy (if that's even possible). Friday we had a nice evening working out, having dinner, and watching Wall-E . Saturday was a busy day for us both because Greg went in to work at 8:30 am and did not get home until almost midnight!! I took took the dogs to get groomed (which was MUCH needed), went to a fun baby shower for a daughter of one of Cindy's friends (that's where the above picture was taken), worked out, worked on a project, ate dinner and watched Twilight until Greg got home. Today, we got up bright and early and headed to Cartersville to meet Cindy, Thomas, and the Joneses for breakfast at IHOP. It was VERY hard to not get pancakes, but Greg and I both did very well and got a spinach, mushroom, and tomato omlet. It was good but it was no buttermilk shortstack with scrambled eggs!! We've both been doing great on our diets thus far! Greg has lost about 16 lbs and I have lost about 10! We've been dieting for about 2 weeks or so, but we started P90X (a ridiculous excercise program) last week. We both can't wait to be beach body ready for our vacations this summer and for our cruise!! Well, I have procrastinated long enough, I must get back to studying. This week and next I have finals so wish me luck!!

A true procrastinator,,,

This will be me in just a few short hours...

A true procrastinator not only waits until the last minute to get important assignments (aka semester long projects) done, but also procrastinates while procrastinating by writing blogs about it =) Actually, I'm taking a quick break before the above picture is me in a few minutes rather than hours. Boooooo school!!! Only a few more weeks and I am free...well, for about 2 weeks and then summer classes start =( And I'll be working during the time I would be in class...sooooo, there goes the break! Oh well...one day I will graduate...one day.

PS- Karis and I made the tiger mask from NoTimeForFlashcards today....so cute! We didn't have any paint so we made some with flour and water and food coloring! I didn't have my camera (booo) so I took a picture with my phone. She walked around all day holding it and growling...cute!!!

Cooking with Karis...

Today Karis and I had a fun time making "Playdough Cookies"! I had originally wanted this to be done using primary colors...but I only had the neon, so we worked with what we had! She loved playing with the "playdough" and rolling out the snakes to make the cookies!! However, if you plan on making these 1) plan on a HUGE mess and stained fingers and 2) don't plan on them tasting very good =( But we had a good time despite the mess and taste!

Stir, stir, stir

She was terrified of the mixer and after the picture she ran off and cried...sad!

Counting to make sure we had enough!

The dough after it came out of the fridge

Checkin out the cookies before they go in the oven

Testing the finished product!

Laurel had fun watching...

But she wanted to know where her cookie was!

Today was a such a fun day and a great Easter! We started off the morning with an awesome church service followed by KCRG (our Sunday School kids) and then it was off to Cville for some lunch and egg hunting! Cindy made a yummy lunch, I brought rolls, Katie brought loaded potato salad and deviled eggs (my fav), Katie Anne made cookies, and Mammaw brought her famous pound cake! After lunch we all watched KA hunt for Easter eggs then the adults got their shot at the fun! There were 147 eggs for us to find!! All of them were filled with either money (Saunders won the grand prize...$20!), small things that could fit in the egg, or slips of paper that listed what the prize was (socks, candy, movie, candle, frame, bubble bath, and lottery tickets)! We had a great time opening each at to see what we got! Thanks Cindy and Thomas for doing that for all of us! After the hunt we went back in for some dessert and watch some golf in the living room. Now we are home and getting Greg ready to leave for PA in the morning =( We're both sad that he'll be gone all week but it's a big deal that this is his first big business trip on his own, so we're happy too! Plus, I have a hectic week ahead with all the school stuff I have due! So, it should go by quickly...at least I hope! I hope everyone had a happy and blessed Easter and remembered the reason we celebrate it!

Crafting with Karis...

I've been keeping up with the NoTimeForFlashcards blog for some cute crafts I can do with Karis. Now that Laurel is here, I feel like it is really important that I spend one-on-one time with just her, so what better way than art! We made the "Easter Bunny's Carrot" and the peacock from one of Eric Carle's books. We've also been painting and coloring but sometimes she does not want her picture taken! Next week we are going to make "playdough cookies" they look awesome and I can't wait to do this with her!

Yes I know I look rough with no make-up..but how cute is she?!

What a sweetie...

I got back from NC yesterday afternoon and was SOOo ready to see my hubby! I missed him TONS and REALLY wished that he was able to go on the trip with me...but he will be in May! Well, I had to go to a City Hall meeting last night (political science class) so that was even MORE time away from him which, normally wouldn't make me sad BUT he'll be gone alllll next week too! So, every minute during the meeting I was hoping it was the last so that I could get home! And this is what I came home too...

A candlelit room with dinner already made! Can he get any sweeter?! He has always done sweet surprises like this but each time it just melts my heart even more! It makes me realize just how lucky I am to have such a loving husband!!
