Welcome to the world...
Fun with the fishies...

Yesterday I had a long fun day with the girls!! Our first stop of the day was to the GA Aquarium! We had SO much fun walking through all of the exhibits and picking out all of our favorite fish!! Karis is the perfect age for such fun places because she really wants to learn about everything and asks so many cool questions! I just LOVE to hear her thinking and reasoning processes!! After the aquarium, we walked over to Centennial Olympic park for our picnic lunch and to play on the playground! It was such incredible weather and it was perfect for playing outside! We then headed back to the house for naps before going to meet Greg at the hospital to go meet Jeremy and Joy's new baby! Then we all went back to the house and had a yummy chick-fil-a supper, story time, and headed off to bed! It was a super fun day!! I cannot wait until the summer when the pool is open and we can have more beautiful days spent outside!
So f
Rain or shine...
It's picnic time =)
I LOVE this picture...Karis is saying the blessing, and it looks like Laurel is bowing her head and trying to sneak a in a sip of her milk...this cracked me up!!
After 70+ degree weather on Sunday, we had snow flurries and rain on Monday...welcome to Georgia. Since I had kept the girls Sunday night, I promised Karis a picnic...we just had to have one inside, which was just as fun! We made a fort and ate out yummy lunches under the tent. I just love the little things! Fun times =)
Long time no write....
It's been a WHILE since I have last blogged! I have just been SOOO incredibly busy with school! However, things are slowing down soon and I have pictures for at least two new posts! So, I will post really soon...maybe even tonight, so stay tuned =)

Dinner and a Show...
Last night we went to see the musical, Spring Awakening at the Fox. Greg had given me tickets to the show for Christmas. It. was. AWESOME!!! I LOVED every second of it! However, the show is not for everyone, it is rather...blunt. The musical is set in Germany in the late 1800's and depicts several trouble teens who are learning about life on their own, despite the iron fists of their parents. It definitely has some very dark moments, and some moments that made some squirm in their chairs (two men kissing, for a looooong time, or two of the teens having sex...those kinds of things haha). Despite some of the uncomfortable (to some) moments, we thought it was fantastic. However, a couple that was near the very front apparently did not, so at intermission they came up the aisle to us and gave us their tickets so we got to move up very close to the stage...SWEEEET!!! I absolutely loved all of the music and will soon know every word to every song...that's a promise =) The show is very RENT-esque and that's probably why we enjoyed it so much, since that's our favorite! Since I got in trouble for having my camera out, I obviously did not get a picture of us there =) ***Let me preface this next part with the fact that we have been dieting all week to have this cheat day...and after last night, we probably had enough calories for the entire week. But trust me, we would and will do it again, because it was DELICIOUS and worth every bite!!!*** (This is a little backwards) Before the show we went to dinner at a new restaurant...
FLIP Burger Boutique. OMG...words cannot even describe how good these burgers were!! The owner of the restaurant is a past Top Chef winner, Richard Blais, and apparently it's not just his fame that attracts people to his restaurant...it's the fantastic food! We got there at 6pm and there was already a 30min wait, but it oh so worth it! I got the rBQ burger which was a beef patty, topped with pulled brisket, marinated in their rBQ sauce, topped with coleslaw, more rBQ sauce, and smoked mayo...typing about makes my mouth water. Greg got the bacon & cheese burger that was topped with onion, lettuce, tomato, house-made pickles, benton's bacon (they have someone who cuts and cures their own bacon), cheese, ketchup, and FLIP sauce. YUM! We got hand-cut fries and vodka battered onion rings as our sides and shared...so good. For dessert we each had one of their famous Liquid N2 milkshakes..I had the Nutella and Burnt Marshmallow and Greg had the Krispy Kreme... Man oh man...this place was soooo good! We WILL be going back. If you plan on visiting, I would go expecting a wait...also, despite there being kids there, I would say that it is not very kid-friendly. We kept saying how there was no way we would bring a young kid there, mainly because of the very tight quarters and the people with kids seemed VERY annoyed with the lack of space for a high chair, lack of space to walk around, noise level, etc. So, this would be a fun date night! It certainly was for us!!

What a FUN night... this was such an awesome gift =)

She cracks me up...
Everyone knows that I LOVE my job (if you can even call it a job). Karis and Laurel are so special to me and I just absolutely love these girls. Anyway, Karis is truly one of the funniest kids I know. She has such a wild imagination and is just always saying the funniest things which constantly cracks me up! I never really blog about anything she says because by the time I've told it to Greg and or her parents or anyone else, I feel like it's old news, or she's already said or done something even funnier. Today, however, she said something that I thought was funny and then I remembered a few other things from the past, so here are a few "Karis-isms"...
This afternoon (after watching Beauty and the Beast earlier this morning) we were playing in the basement, when Karis took her laptop (a little v-tech toy one) and here is the convo:
Karis: Excuse me while I go to work. I need to send an email real quick.
me: Oh, ok. And who are you sending an email to?
Karis: That girl, Blooty (beauty). I need to tell her how to get out of that castle and how to run away from the beast.
me: Do you mean Belle? The girl's name is 'Belle'.
Karis: (looking at me like I'm an idiot) Umm...Jill-li-lan, the movie is blooooty and the beast, can you say "bloooooty" (sounding it out very slowly for me)?
haha...this cracked me up!
Karis is learning how to appropriately express her emotions and how to communicate how or what she is feeling, so she often says "that makes me sad/angry/happy/etc". Well, the other day we were playing Candy Land and once she realized the 1) she was losing and 2) I had gotten to land on more cards with pictures (the gum-drop land, peppermint forest, etc) she stopped playing and said, "Hey! Look at my face! (and then made a very dramatic angry face)" and I said "Woah, I don't know if I like that face, that doesn't look very nice" she said " Well, it's a VERRY angry face!" Too cute!!

2 more signs...
This weekend I painted two more memo boards. One is for my friend Jillian (awesome name), who asked for one for her birthday, and I made the top on for us to go in front of our garage door for notes/cards/etc. I'm not 100% pleased with that one, so we'll see if it actually makes it on the wall or not! After giving Joy the her sign for Ryan on Saturday, I think I've decided that I am going to start selling these. So...put the word out =) And, of course, let me know what you think!
Joy's Shower...
Saturday was Joy's baby shower! It was so much fun! We played several cute games, "What's in that diaper?", "Gift Bingo", We guessed the distance around Joy's stomach with a pieces of yarn, and we decorated bibs for Ryan. It was wonderful hanging out with everyone and eating all the yummy food! Ryan got lots of goodies and we are all very eager to meet him in just a few short weeks!!
*****2 errors in the slide-show...1) pretty* and 2) hostesses... now enjoy =)

Book Club...
Friday night was our monthly book club meeting, which was hosted by Holly. We chose to read Dear John by Nicholas Sparks so that we could go see the movie together after our meeting. We had such a FUN time!! Holly is quite the entertainer and had us all laughing hysterically throughout the movie, as Leah said on her blog, we were the annoying girls in the back row talking and laughing...luckily there weren't too many people seeing it! There were SEVERAL differences between the book and the movie, but each were good in their own way =) I can't wait for our next get together because we are doing the same thing (meeting then movie) with The Last Song...I am totally not a Miley fan so we'll see how the movie goes! Anyway...here are a couple of pics of the group (thanks to Leah)!!

My Favorite ABC's...
WARNING: Be prepared to gag...mushy post alert!
Every single morning before work, without fail, I come downstairs to a note posted for me under the microwave. About a month ago, my notes changed to letters...the ABC's. Every day, Greg will leave a new letter and a few words that describe me that begin with that letter. SO CUTE! I have looked forward to hearing the garage door close just so I can run down and see what the words of the day were! These notes make my day! It truly is the little things that make a marriage so very special! He is an amazing man and I am sooo blessed to have him! Even though the ABC notes are over, there was still a sweet note left for me this morning that made me just as happy!
