A pictureless post...

Just an update since I do not post as much as I was over the summer...

School started back a couple of weeks ago and the schedule has gone back to being on overload mode:

T- work 8-1, class 2-3:15, 3:30-5:30, 6:30-7:45, 8-10...home by 10:15pm-ish
W- work 8-1, class 2-3:15...HOME before 5!!!
TH- work 8-1, class 2-3:15, 6:30-7:45...home by 8pm
F- class 8-10:45, work 11:30-5pm...home by 5:45

(luckily my field experience won't start for another 2 weeks)

Then of course add making dinner, doing laundry, keeping the house cleaned, homework, and trying my best to be a good wife to the list...that makes for a very busy week!

And that's just the weekly schedule...we are not busy or out of town 1 weekend in September and 2 (maybe 1) in October...so this is certainly a busy couple of months!

On top of the craziness of my weeks... I've been sick for the past week now and it totally sucks! I have had an upper respiratory infection since Tues. and it's not going away...boo! So today I took the day off and slept...A LOT and I feel so rested...it's nice =)

Other than keeping up with school and getting a new car, there's nothing much that's new going on at the Glawson residence...just trying to make it through the semester healthy and sane! I sign up for my field experience school tomorrow so keep your fingers crossed that one of the 3 I want! N-weds also started back up yesterday and we are SO glad!! We've really missed it over the summer and were glad to see everyone again...and of course to be there when Jeremy and Joy announced they are pregnant to everyone! We've known for a little while but I was still overjoyed to hear the announcement again!! They are going to be incredible parents and I am so glad that we are such good friends and will get to see them and the baby a ton! Ahh...the beauty of being the youngest of our siblings and all of our friends...we'll have a TON of practice between all the kids I nanny, our nieces and nephew, and all of our friends' kids by the time we start having kids!! Well...I'm sure I've bored you enough with this pointless post so I am off to bed!

Greg's New Ride...

If you read my previous post then you know that we just got a new car yesterday! We were having a ton of trouble with the Escape and were putting so much money into it to fix it (which was completely pointless because Greg has never really like the Escape) so we decided last weekend that we were for sure done with it and ready for something new. After searching for the perfect car for us we finally found it! Greg loves it so I am happy! He says that it is the perfect fit for him because it is a sports car feel that can hold a car seat or two...and of course, I'm happy with that too =) I'm also happy because financially, it is better than the Escape! Here are several pictures of our new car (the windows will be tinted...it's his Christmas present...yes, he knows lol).

BMW 328i

It can drive as a manual OR an automatic...which is sweet because I can't drive a manual

Where the baby will go...a long, long time from now haha

This means nothing to me...but Greg took it so I guess that means he wants me to post it lol

Pictures to come...

But we got a new car! YAY!!! It was already dark when we got home so I will post pics in the morning! It's been one heck of a week for Greg so I am ecstatic that he is so happy with our new purchase =)

Take Me Out to the Ballgame...

Sunday afternoon me, Greg, Katie, and Saunders were invited to go to a Braves game with Carlton and Trisha. I had NEVER been to a Braves game before (yes I know...shocker) and it was very exciting seeing what all the hype was about! We had a great time together and enjoyed the company and the game!! It was an exciting game AND the Braves won...so what a great one to see! It was a fun afternoon out; thanks for inviting us C&T!!!

Yesterday we went with the Glawson/Jones gang to Alabama for a family picnic in Noccalula Falls Park. Cindy and Thomas rented a 15 passenger van so that we could all ride together. The actual waterfall was very weak because of the lack of rain, and supposedly this is "off season" and it's better to go in the Spring. However, the park was fantastic and we had a wonderful time walking around looking at all of the animals, riding the train that went though the park, and all playing on the playground. Our picnic was delicious (BBQ sandwiches, cowboy caviar, chips, pasta salad, fruit and veggies, and a blueberry crisp (made by yours truly) for dessert)! We had such a great time and Katie Anne was such fun and is at such a fun age to do these kinds of things with, I think she really enjoyed it. We were so surprised that she didn't completely pass out on the way home, but instead she managed to stay awake the whole way back and entertained us all! We had a great day, enjoy the pictures!

We have had a busy but fun weekend so far! Everyone (my mom, Kari, Eva and James) got it late Thursday night and I went to pick up James and my mom from Kari's sister's house. The boys (our dogs) did NOT know what to think about have a baby in our room they just sat and stared at the pack-n-play and would stand at the edge of the bed and try to see what was inside. However, Jackson got up with us every time and went with me and James to the kitchen for those middle of the night feedings! the point of James staying with me (besides just because I wanted him too) was to help put him on a schedule. It's been working so far, so we'll see if it sticks when they get home! He has been SOO much fun and he is such a great baby!! On Friday and Saturday we went to a local children's consignment sale and got INCREDIBLE deals! I didn't have my camera with me but Kari did so I will post those pics later! Last night we all headed over to Kristen's house for dinner and Greg grilled the most delicious meal of shrimp, burgers, corn, and asparagus. Yum!! For the next 2 nights we will have Eva with us and I can't wait! She is SOOO much fun and so incredibly cute! We've enjoyed having the family here (but of course miss my dad and brother)! My mom and I have had fun watching movies together, shopping, and going out for ice cream...what's not to love?! We are all about to head to lunch but I will post more pics soon of us with miss Eva!!

Just read it...

I wanted to read this before I saw the movie and I am so glad I did! I'm just about finished with this book and I am in love with it. Yes, it is terribly sad and morally troubling...but it is a great book. It deals with so many different aspects of life and because of the way the author has written from each character's perspective (other than Kate, which is interesting because the storyline revolves around her but the author does not include "her side" of things) almost everyone can relate to someone or some feeling in this story. Love it! I just wish I had more time to read!

All in a day's work...

Have I mentioned how incredibly awesome my husband is? If not...this will prove it...

Before...

(btw...there is a ton of stuff on the dresser because we were also cleaning bathrooms lol...just for the record)

After...

A freshly painted room!!! A few months ago we moved some friend's of ours and they had the same color scheme as we do (blue/brown) and they had this awesome shade of blue on their walls that we both loved! We've been saying for a while that we wanted to do this so on Sunday Greg surprised me with all the stuff to paint the room! I was SO excited! He worked SOOO hard all night Monday and then took the day off today to finish the room! It looks AWESOME and the pictures don't do it justice! Above our bed is something I've been wanting for a long time also because I saw a picture from my friend Kristin's FB page so we basically completely copied that idea...thanks for being okay with it Kristin =) Along with painting the walls he also repainted the doors and all the trim...it looks great and so fresh! The best part about it all...he wouldn't let me help! And yes...I tried and offered repeatedly, but he said that he wanted it to be a surprise from the beginning but since you obviously can't make that a surprise he still wanted it to be something he did for me. Yes...he IS incredible =)

As if this wasn't enough, he also...

replaced the hideous ceiling fans that were in our office and guest bedroom! When we moved in we updated all the lighting except those two rooms and today he replaced them with fans that match our others...they look SOOO much better!

HE ALSO...hung my calendar! I got this dry erase wall calendar at a yard sale this past weekend for $3!! So I painted the trim (it was green) and not it is neatly hanging above my desk! Love it!

Here are some pictures of him painting...

What a tired, sweet man!! I am unimaginably lucky!!

Thank you so much love =)

Sunday night we went to Cville to celebrate Cindy's birthday! We had a great time and a delicious dinner! Each family made their own pizza and then Cindy grilled them (so good) along with some peaches and pineapple marinated in honey, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg...YUM! After dinner we watch her open all her fun presents and then we headed back to the dining room for dessert! I did good, but it was SOOO hard...she made a very yummy "ooey gooey bar" (chocolate chip cookie, chocolate, mini-marshmallows, and carmel) and I only had a small half of one (stupid diets)..however, I could have easily eaten the whole pan! After that we watched 27 Dresses (the movie we got her) and then we headed home! I hope she had a great birthday celebration night..her actual bday isn't until this weekend...everyone loves a birthday week =)

Hairbow Holder...

Before...

After...

I saw this idea here and thought it was SO cute! On Saturday I hit the yard sales in search of an old picture frame. I didn't find one until I decided to step into Tuesday Morning and that's where I found this frame on clearance for $6! So, I used ribbon I already had, scrap fabric, white paint, and quilt batting (I did have to buy that) and made this for less than $10! I also made the three bows that are displayed...this was my first attempt at hairbows so don't judge haha! I had planned on making one for each niece but then I saw where Katie had already made two different bow holders for KA...so Eva will take this one home with her next week when she's here!

Date night...

Friday night Greg and I decided to go out to celebrate summer classes ending, our weight loss (we started back hard core workouts and dieting again...gotta get cruise ready!), good grades, and the end of a bad work week. I picked the restaurant this time and we went to...

Seasons 52! It was soo good, ESPECIALLY because every single thing on the menu is 475 calories OR LESS!!! So we didn't have to worry about our waistlines while we went out to dinner! Greg had the grilled beef tenderloin salad and I had the roasted crab stuffed shrimp...yum! We decided to pass on dessert, however, they serve dessert in cute little cup all indivually portioned called, "mini-indulgences"... aren't they cute!

It was a great night and we enjoyed being able to just sit and relax together after a hectic week!

Saturday I woke up early to go check out some yard sales and to go to a HUGE children's consignment sale. I went to look for picture frames (to do the hairbow holder you'll see in a bit), books, and whatever other goodies I could find. I got some GREAT deals...they are in the midst of being painted but you will see them soon! Well..off to work on my projects then I am going to go teach Sunday school...I'm on my own today since Greg is on the golf course! Wish me luck!
