Katie Anne's First Soccer Game...

This past Tuesday was our niece's first soccer game. It was so cute watching her out there! I just love seeing tiny people in sports uniforms, it's just adorable! It was a pretty hot afternoon, so I give them all props for being able to run around in that heat for an hour! I was tired just sitting in my chair (however, it doesn't take much for me to be tired these days lol). We were so proud of Katie Anne for trying so hard and doing such a great job! I bet we'll be watching her play sports for years to come =)
Playing like a pro!
Poor SJ wanted to play so badly!! He was a great cheerleader for his big sister!

Nursery Reveal...

FINALLY! The nursery is finished! Well, the decorating part anyway (besides the final decal we are waiting on that will go in between the branches above the crib...it says "First came love, then came you"...so sweet)!! I love, love, love this room!! It is so calming and sweet and I just love sitting in there with the lamp on, just daydreaming about what it will be like with her here. I'm so glad we decided to paint the leaves instead of put the vinyl ones that came with them up. They were basically neon green...not happening. Greg put so much work into this nursery to make it just perfect! Now all we need is a few final touches and a sweet baby girl to make it 100% complete =)
From the doorway...

The changing table/dresser that Greg stained. It matches the crib perfectly!!
The bookshelves Greg made. Love this area!
The bow holder and nightlight =)
The closet...still a work in progress but it's coming along! Look at all those sweet pink outfits!! LOVE it and can't wait to play dress-up =)

NC Shower...

Last Saturday my mom, Kari, and grandmother hosted a shower for me in NC. This was my first shower and I was SO excited about it! It was so great getting to see everyone. Some people I hadn't seen in years, so for them to come out and celebrate our baby girl means so much!! We are so very blessed with great friends and family and we received TONS of sweet gifts! It was a bit overwhelming opening everything, but it was lots of fun seeing all of the pink =) Caroline is going to be one well dressed girl! I really appreciate my family hosting this shower and I had a fantastic time catching up with everyone!

3rd Trimester =)

How Far Along: 28 weeks (6/7 Months)

Size of baby: an eggplant=)

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Let's just say...more than I should =) HOWEVER, I did not gain anything over the past month so hooray for that!

Maternity Clothes: Still in them of course!

Gender: Sweet baby girl!!!!!

Movement: Every day! We have been able to feel her roll over and stuff now which is really neat.

What I miss: My engagement ring (I'm still wearing my band so people know this isn't an illegitimate child haha), not getting out of breath ALL the time.

Sleep: It could be better, it could be worse...but I'm enjoying the sleep I do get!

Symptoms: My back pain has come back with a vengeance and bad hip cramping. Also, lots of heartburn lately.

Cravings: Sour things, specifically lemonade, and still cold cereal.

Best Moment this week: Our first shower in NC!! I will post on that later, but it was so much fun and I got so many awesome things for Caroline!

What we are looking forward to: We are SO close to being finished with the nursery, just have the leaves to paint on the trees and we are FINISHED!! I cannot WAIT to post pics =)

Happy 1st Birthday SJ!!

Yesterday we celebrated our sweet nephew's first birthday! The party decor was so cute with all of the Dr. Seuss themed decorations. In true Katie fashion, everything was decorated to a tee and so cute! The party was a brunch and Cindy made the delicious food for the event. SJ was soo happy the entire party and I think he loved having all eyes on him =) He got tons and tons of fun gifts and I can't wait to see him in all of his new cute outfits! He is such a fun baby with an awesome personality, I just can't believe he's already been here a year!! Time definitely flies!

Here are some pics of the decorations...

Cindy's Birthday...

Last Sunday we celebrated Cindy's birthday by an afternoon of swimming and then a delicious meal! It was so nice hanging out in the pool for a while on such a hot day! After we were all finished swimming we went back over to their house for a fantastic dinner. Cindy made a delicious chicken casserole, baked spaghetti, rolls, and salad. For dessert we had a choice of Mammaw's yummy pound cake or Georgy Porgy pie (so so good...chocolate, coconutty goodness). After stuffing ourselves, it was gift time! Cindy knew exactly what we got her, as usual, a new Keurig style coffee maker and k-cups. We also got her two mugs to enjoy her coffee in. We had a fabulous time spending time with the family and celebrating another birthday!

Father/daughter Date Night...

Last weekend my parents came to town for a quick visit. A few months ago Greg and I surprised my dad with tickets to Steely Dan in concert at Chastain. Steely Dan is one of my dad's favorite bands and he had never seen them live before now, so we knew we had to get them for him! Growing up my dad and I have always gone on special dates to dinners, movies, concerts, plays, etc., so this time it was my turn to treat him =) We had such a great time!! The weather was absolutely perfect, which considering out 100+ degree week, was such a blessing. This was my first time at Chastain Amphitheater and it is really one of the coolest venues I've been to. Since Greg had made us such a big lunch that afternoon, we just picked up some Chick-fil-a salads for a lighter dinner to take with us to the concert. Even though I didn't know many of their songs, I still enjoyed the music and just being there with my dad. He is one very special man and I am so very blessed to have a dad like him! I hope we continue our daddy/daughter dates over the years, even if there are a few years between them!
