Welcome home...

Jillian is back from her student teaching experience from Costa Rica and I am SO excited!!! I missed her so much and I am glad to have her within driving distance again =)

Congratulations Greg!!!

WARNING: This is a (well deserved) bragging post about this handsome man

I'm SOOO proud to FINALLY announce that Greg has a new job! It's been in the works for quite some time, so I am ecstatic that our prayers have been answered and he can continue to move up and into a new chapter of his career. Starting in January (he had to put in 30 day notice at his current job), he will be working at a major credit union (not naming for privacy reasons, however it's one of the largest in the state and one of the most stable in the country...which is huge in the financial industry these days) in Duluth. This is a big step for his career and an incredible opportunity for him and for our family! He has accomplished so very much at such a young age and I am beyond proud of him and his success. He is absolutely incredible at what he does and truly loves is work, so I couldn't be happier for him. He has worked exceptionally hard to get to where he is at and I am so glad to see the hard work has paid off! As of right now, the office is a bit of a hike, not too far, but we will probably consider moving a bit closer in the near future. So, with me graduating, his new job, him graduating this summer, a possible move, and other big new possible changes, this is going to be one heck of a year and we are more than happy to let go and let God!! We certainly wouldn't be where we are without Him!

GREAT JOB LOVE!!

Thanksgiving numero uno...

We left for NC on Tuesday after a VERY exciting morning (post to come). We were glad to be able spend some time actually visiting with everyone instead of driving all night, going to bed as soon as we get there, visit for one afternoon and then leave the next morning. Tuesday evening when we arrived, my parents had a congratulations cookie cake waiting for Greg and then took us out for a fantastic celebratory meal for our big news (again...in the next post). Unfortunately, I spent the rest of the week sick and we had to leave a day early, but we had a fabulous time nonetheless. On Thanksgiving day we headed over to my aunt's house for our extended family lunch, which was HUGE! There were around 30 people there, so it was crowded but fun! After stuffing ourselves, we left to go to my grandmother's house for round two. Luckily we had several hours in between meals to nap and so that we could fully appreciate the delicious meal my 86-year-old grandmother made!!! Good Lord I hope I have that woman's genes, she's amazing! After a fantastic traditional Thanksgiving meal, we all sat around catching up and then headed back to Raleigh. The original plan was to be out and about with the crazies at 3am, but this sickie couldn't do it this year..fail. But fear not, I did not let those sale prices go to waste, I did all my shopping online and got some SWEET deals! However, on Friday morning we left early so that I could get back home to see the doctor to find out I had strep throat...booo! It was a great visit and we are looking forward to seeing everyone in a few short weeks for graduation!

Winner, Winner!

Woohoo! I won the ERGObaby Performance Carrier from a blog giveaway on Familylicious. No we're not pregnant, but hopefully I will be sometime soon, so I might as well start racking up all of the free deals that I can!! I've gotten some pretty sweet deals but this one I am pretty stoked about!

Shutterfly Christmas Deal...

I heard through the grapevine that Shutterfly was giving away 50 FREE Christmas cards to bloggers! So, sign me up! I've gotten Christmas cards from Shutterfly in the past and have been pleased with them, and fifty is about what we need to send out this year so I am pumped! There are so many great cards to choose from on their website. I think that I am just going to go with a flat card this year. There are several that I have chosen that I think are nice from their Holiday 2010 Collection. Here are my top 4 picks...
I like this one because I could choose a picture of us AND of the two pups

I like this one because I can choose two of my favorite pictures of us, then put two pictures of the dogs in the center

I like the style of this one a lot

I like the coloring of this one and layout

Which one do you like best? Also check out the rest of their collection for cards of your own!

Thankful Thursday...

I'm SO very thankful for this crazy haired boy =)
(day 2 o f the camping trip with toboggan hair)

I'm thankful for him everyday but today I am especially thankful! Not only did this sweet man bring me Starbucks to school and eat lunch with me, I also came home to a clean house and got to take a nice long nap since I'm not feeling well. He is the most incredible person I know (obviously not just because of the reasons above), and I am so very proud to be his wife! There aren't many men in the world left like him, so I am very glad I snatched him up =)

Ten on Tuesday...

So...as you can see I've already miss the NaBloPoMo deadlines! All I can say to that is, try my schedule out for a week and see how much time there is to post...let alone make dinner, do laundry, clean up, sleep, and breathe =)

However, I'll still be randomly posting! So here is my Ten on Tuesday post, stolen from Erins blog =)

Well, now that I am older, a lot of people. My grandmother, mother-in-law, and all the relatives that chip in on favorite dishes at family gatherings

Better late than never! Last weekend we went on a camping trip in the North GA mountains with our small group (minus one couple). It. Was. FREEZING!!! However, it was also incredibly fun! The girls did a fab job setting up the tents while the men hauled in all the stuff and made the fire. I don't think I've ever been as cold as i was Friday night, but we all survived and woke up to a delicious breakfast made by Jeff. To warm up, the girls took a short walk (let's be real...none of us are the "outdoorsy" type...so it was a very short walk haha). After hanging around the campsite a bit, playing frisbee, chatting, napping, and twiddling our thumbs, we all decided to take a nice long hike...STRAIGHT UP A MOUNTAIN...WITHOUT A TRAIL! Buuuut we made it, and a little huffin and puffin never killed anyone (though at times, I thought it might kill me)! We had a FANTASTIC chili supper that came back to haunt us all (haha)and sat around the campfire playing hilarious games and which got interrupted by the sound of a woman screaming around midnight. On Halloween. Don't worry, after we all cleaned our pants, John let us know that it was just a bird!! We all slept great Saturday then woke up, packed up, and headed out! It was wonderful weekend and we are looking forward to it again...when it is warmer =)

I used to have one about being chased down a frozen food aisle in a grocery store by a man with a machete...and people wonder where my anxiety comes from.
