Tag, you're it...

Katie has recently tagged me in her blog so here are 7 interesting/not so interesting facts that you may or may not know about yours truly =)

1)
I am a HUGE worry-wart and I am terrified at the idea of us being near the "end of time." I read where people are saying it will be in Dec. 2012 and I didn't sleep well for days. I am a Christian and do believe that no man shall no when Jesus Christ is coming...however, in the mean time, I will worry about it...despite the fact that I know where I am going and will happier there than I could ever imagine being here on earth. I also worry about things on the news and therefore I do not watch, I usually have Greg sugar coat it all to me later...ignorance is bliss in some cases...otherwise I have panic attacks over it.

2)
I have been planning my kid's names and nursery's since I was about five. All I have ever wanted is to be a wife and mother because I know I will be great at both! We are of course waiting to have kids for several years, but I know that my kids will never be able to say they were never wanted or not loved. I love them already!!! Seeing Greg with our first grade Sunday school class and seeing him when we babysit melts my heart!! I cannot wait! (But I am of course...I can see this being taken the wrong way)!

3)
I am a HUGE bargain shopper...especially for myself! I have never spent more than $20 on a shirt and probably not for a pair of pants either. I just can't bring myself to do it. I will spend WAY more on Greg's clothes (mainly because there aren't as many good deals on his clothes). I LOVE shopping for clothes but HATE shopping for shoes. I usually wait until my shoes are REALLY bad before I go look for another pair...unless it they are flip-flops. I would cut coupons if I had the time and could remember to use them, but I always forget. I LOVE a good buy!

4)
Speaking of shopping...I LOVE grocery shopping; ESPECIALLY at more specialty stores like Harry's Farmer's Market or Whole Foods. I could literally spend hours (and hundreds $$$) walking every aisle of either of those stores! I love looking at all the different kinds of food from all over the world. If I could afford it, I would make absolutely everything I could from organic items and make really random dishes using exotic ingredients. I am glad I do not cook as much as I would like to because of the impact it would take on my wallet and my waistline! I think I love it so much because my dad always loved it and I used to be SO excited when he would pick me up after work to go to the store with him. I guess I've always looked at it like a treat...except now I'm buying =)

5)
I wish I were more creative. I LOVE crafts and the idea of doing all kinds of artsy, creative things around the house, yet they either never turn out looking quite as good as I would like, or I just never get around to do it. I love doing crafts with kids though because mine always looks better =) This creative desire does not help when I have a super creative sister-in-laws who always come up with cute craft ideas that always look great (and I'm sure they knows this kills me =) but fortunately they are always willing to help me learn...)!!

6)
I LOOOOVE naps! I could take a nap every single day and be perfectly happy to still go to bed around 9:30 or 10! I'm pretty sure I am a 70-year-old trapped in a 20-year-old body! I'm also always up at the crack of dawn...naturally =)

7)
I'm a newlywed!!! Most of you already knew that BUT it's still a fun fact =) I am so incredibly blessed to have Greg as my husband...we're loving every minute of it!!!

I don't know many other bloggers who haven't been tagged so if I tag you and you have already been tagged...consider yourself special =)

3) Sarah
4) Vanessa
5) Erin
6) Leah
7) Whomever else wants to do it =)

Trick-or...

FINALLY!!! I have been wanting to go to the pumpkin patch near our house for weeks now! So today after work, Greg picked me up and took me to go get our pumpkins =)I saw this cute idea on marthastewart.com on making the pumpkin into a treat bowl..it was kind of a pain in the butt, however I do like the finished product! Greg is disgusted with pumpkin goo so it was my job to scrape it all out before I brought them inside for us to carve. Jackson LOVED the pumpkins because he looked at it like a buffet line! He kept eating the pieces I would carve out...gross! We cannot wait to have trick-or-treaters this year at our house! I LOVE LOVE LOVE seeing little kids get dressed up and so excited to get free candy from strangers haha! But seriously, I love holidays and this is our first semi-big one in our house =) Anyhoo...here are some more pics of tonight's adventures in pumpkin carving!

Where did it go...

Well, wedding time has come and gone...for me at least! Chelsea just got engaged this past weekend and I'm very happy for her! However, this for some reason instilled some deep nostalgic feeling within me. I remember the first day I met her on the very first day of high school in 9th grade Lit. We clicked immediately and were off shopping at the mall together that night (dropped off by our moms of course). Over the past several years we have both moved high schools, graduated, moved off to college and live in separate states, have seen each other through a few relationships (good and bad), have had our share of fights and weeks of not talking to one another...yet, we are always the one the other turns to. We are complete opposites but we balance each other well. And I guess seeing her engaged made me realize how much things have changed and how much we've both grown up. Where did the time go? Of course we are still very young in the eyes of most, but I still feel like adulthood has opened it's arms and wrapped itself around my life. I do feel like an adult and share in adult responsibilities with my husband(another indicator of feeling more adult), but I think part of me (and part of everyone) still feels like I should still be being dropped off at the movies for dates and having a curfew! It's just crazy how time flies and I know when I have kids their childhood will pass before me more quickly than I could have ever imagined mine doing. But I am so incredibly happy to be where I am today. I could not ask for a better adulthood =) And I know it is just beginning! I cannot wait for years later to look back at where I am now in my life and reminisce over the good times and how young I was =)

So I was in the mood for change...

So what do you think? I've been wanting to get my hair cut for a while because it was getting too long to do anything with. So, 8 inches later...I have my new short hair =) Greg loves it, which I was worried about because he likes for me to keep my hair long, but it'll grow out by the summer, but I kind of like this length. And for those of you who know me, know I don't like change so it'll take some getting used to! Well, I hope you like it =)

Day 2 Adventures...

As mentioned in my last post, on Monday we went golfing in the morning which was something that Greg wanted to do and we went to the Mall of Georgia to go shopping in the afternoon which is something I wanted to do. We had a great time doing both! When we booked our golf game they told us that the easier course was booked with a tournament and we could have a tee time on the more challenging course but may be partnered with another twosome. Considering I have not stepped foot on a golf course since 8th grade...we chose to be polite and not bring down any other players, so we decided to switch to the executive Par 3 course...and everyone is still thanking us for it =) I definitely need to brush up on my golf skills...we'll leave it at that! We had a lot of fun shopping besides the fact that Greg ended up getting more clothes than me...lame. We bought him a new graphic t-shirt and hoodie before our mini-moon and he fell in love with the look. So yesterday he bought a ton of new graphic tees. He found this messenger bag that he really liked and was going to get until I teased him for changing so much...once he's married he feels the need for graphic tees and messenger bags haha. But they look great on him so I'm enjoying the spontaneity! Afterwards, we went to see "Eagle Eye" in the IMAX...it was terryifing but good. It was a fun-filled day and a fanastic ending to such a perfect mini-moon...now we have the big honeymoon in Italy to look forward to =)
Happy to be playing golf

Gorgeous day!!

Me putting...probably not my first one on the green lol

I'm baaaaack...

AS A MARRIED WOMAN!!!
We are back from the wedding festivities and "mini-moon." I am not kidding when I say that it was absolutely, positively, without a doubt the most PERFECT day of my life!! I was so incredible calm and relaxed and ready to marry Greg! I kept wondering why everyone kept asking if I was nervous because this is what I have wanted more than anything for so long, why would I be nervous? They should have been more worried about trying to keep me from running down the aisle =) The day went off without a hitch and we are so extremely thankful for that! We both said that there are not many things that you wouldn't change, but there is NOTHING we would change about our wedding day! I don't have any pictures yet of the events, but hope to soon! However, I do have a few from our "mini-moon" to Chateau Elan. We had such a fantastic time there! On Sunday we had a couples massage which was much needed and followed by an incredible dinner! Monday we compromised on the day's activities with a morning round of golf and an afternoon shopping spree followed by dinner and a move at the IMAX =) This morning we woke up and ate a delicious breakfast and were ready to come home, unpack, and wind down as an old married couple =) We are so glad to be home! Thanks to everyone who made this weekend so very special!!! Here are a few pics...enjoy =)

I can hear the bells...

Well...3 more days!!! Tonight is going to be stress city as we get all of our stuff together and ready for us to leave tomorrow! I cannot believe it is so close!!! Where did this month go?! We are so ready to get this show on the road and be married! Everyone keeps telling me to stay calm and not get stressed and I have remained relatively stress free (and hopefully will continue to do so)!! But anyway...YAY!!! Today after library time, Karis and I went to Joanne's to look at sewing stuff. I have some new obsession with wanting to start sewing. Katie has started (and no, that is not why I want to start...although it'll be nice to have her advice) but I just can't get over how cheap the outfits are to make and I have so many kids I could make them for AND as an added bonus, I will be able to sew when I have kids...which is my goal lol. I've been wanting to sew for months after seeing some hand bags and home decor a girl from our small group made. So hopefully, Santa will bring me some sewing gear and talent =) I'm just feeling the need to do something crafty...and Greg doesn't wanting me painting the house for fun or anything like that ;) So, be on the look out for some hot new threads from yours truly!! Well, it's almost time for class! I'm not sure when I will get a chance to blog again...it'll most likely be when I am a Glawson!!! See ya soon =)

Oh no! Jack has been transformed...

Into a...

BUMBLEBEE!!!

We got Jackson's Halloween costume today and decided that he must try it on! He LOVED it (of course)! He'll be so much fun dressed up when all the trick-or-treaters come by our house =) We also got him a new toy and some bones because we feel bad for leaving him next week...but we will be back and he will be a legitimate child =) Here are some more pictures of the cute bee!

PS- 6 MORE DAYS!!!!!!!!

And the REAL countdown begins...

I cannot believe we are only 10 days from being married!!!! It's outrageous! Where does the time go?! It honestly does feel like just months ago we were having a blast celebrating our engagement in NYC and now I am running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying not to forget a single thing (and the repeated dreams of us forgetting to bring the rings are getting old)! My nights are becoming less filled with sleep and more filled with the nervous excitement and wild dreams of all the things that could possibly go wrong at the wedding! But I know it will all be wonderful in the end! And we will have a great time but I will also kind of be glad when it is over so the real fun can begin...marriage =) Speaking of which, I know most of you know that we are involved in N-Weds (newly/nearlywed small group) at church, but I just can't explain what this group means to us. On the way home from meeting this past sunday, we were talking about how blessed we are to have found this church and this group! I truly think this will help in making our marriage so rich! It is so nice seeing other couples going through the same walk of life as us and getting to support eachother through it all. This past Sunday they laid hands over us as our leader prayed for our wedding and our marriage and it was it was as if a weight had been lifted! It's just really nice to know that they are all praying for our special day just are we are praying for their marriages and their soon-to-be marriages in return! After becoming so involved in everything, our relationship as been so amazing! God is truly looking out for us! But anyhoo...keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we continue on the home stretch to the big day!!!

Happy Birthday Saunders...

Last night we celebrated Saunders birthday (it's really on the 8th) at Cindy and Thomas' house. We had a lot of fun seeing Katie Anne in her cute new dress (made by Katie)! We all ate a delicious meal prepared by Cindy then followed it up with a few rounds of Wii games! I took all the stuff that needs to be taken to Gastonia to their house which is just one more realization for me that time is tickin' and we are CLOSE!!! The more we talked about it or the more I looked over everything to make sure we had it all, the shorter and shorter my breath became! I've done SO well this whole time about not getting nervous or stressed out so it better not start now =) It is funny because Katie and Saunders told me before that the wedding is pretty much just like a producing a play...oh so true! Greg told me last night not to get so stressed because the only thing that matters is that we wake up that Saturday morning engaged and go to bed that night as husband and wife (how sweet!) but how true! It's not about the wedding or who comes or who doesn't or if the food is going to be enough or good or if the tables are decorated just right...it's about spending the rest of our lives together... it's about being married =) And if I continue to look at it in that manner then hopefully I can keep my nerves at bay! Someone will just have to hold me back from running down the aisle =) Here are some pictures of last night...I hope Saunders had a good time!
