Tomorrow we will celebrate our two year anniversary! Since it falls on a Monday, we decided to celebrate this weekend. I woke up Saturday morning to a sweet card and a diamond necklace (I lost the one that was given to me on our wedding day...so wish me luck)! It's beautiful! We packed up the pups and dropped them off with Cindy and Thomas and headed to the city. Our first stop was getting lunch at one of our favorite spots, Flip. Sooo good =) Then we headed to the aquarium for some fun. Since it was such an incredibly beautiful day, we decided to enjoy some sunshine out in the park between the aquarium and the World of Coke. After we soaked up some rays and enjoyed the Fall weather, we headed over to the World of Coke for a quick tour. By the time we left, it was time to check into our hotel. We stayed at the Grand Hyatt in Buckhead. Our room was so nice and it was conveniently located right across the street from where we had dinner, Ruth Chris. Our meal was AMAZING! It's one of Greg's favorite places and with good reason, the steaks are incredible! For our anniversary, they brought us a chocolate mouse cheesecake, but we already had dessert plans so we packed it up and went over to Cafe Intermezzo to pick up our dessert. Greg got gookie dough cheesecake and I got a delicious napolean. We took our desserts back to the room and enjoy them with some champagne =) We enjoyed sleeping in and then going to have brunch at J. Christopher's before picking up the dogs and heading home. It was a FANTASTIC night and an wonderful way to celebrate two years of marriage! We're looking forward to what this new year in our beautiful marriage will bring...we have a feeling it will be quite an exciting one =)

Georgia, Sweet Georgia...

Literally...Sweet Georgia =)

For the past 2 weeks we have been learning about the five GA regions and major rivers. To conclude the unit, we made a sugar cookie map of Georgia! The kids LOVED it! Each student had a turn to do something with the map (icing, rivers, putting candy on, "sanding" the coast, labeling, etc). It turned out really cute and my teacher took it all around the 2nd grade hall showing it off =) I'm using the above picture to make a map key activity for the students and then we will be all finished with this unit. I've learned a lot about GA in the past few weeks since I am not from here and never had to take GA history. What a fun day in 2nd grade!

In the background you can see the hershey's kisses for the Blue Ridge Mountain region and there are mini-marshmallows (high and flat) for the Appalachian Plateau, licorice for the Fall Line, and brown sugar for the sand on the coast. Fun!

Karis' Soccer Game...

Us and the next World Cup champ =)

This morning we got to go see one very cute, tiny person play soccer! She was so good! We were so very proud of her and were excited to get to see her play. She was SO cute out there! She was so much taller than the other kids, which she used to her advantage, because she was also faster on those long legs! It was so interesting watching the girls play on one field and the boys play on the other because they played SO differently. The boys would just tackle each other and the girls would take turns with the ball haha. This was a fun way for us to start our day!

A little practice with Greg
Taking a break after the game!
In action!

Cutie!
Cutest soccer player ever!

Another pottery creation...

Last Friday, Erin and I went to paint on some more pottery =) We had fabulous time! I already knew what I wanted to paint, so it was an easy choice this time, and next time I am painting the chips-n-dip platter! I decided to paint a "Happy Birthday" plate, so that whenever it is someone's birthday in the house then they get to eat off the special plate =) I think it will be a cute tradition, especially when we have kids. I didn't have my camera when we picked them up, but Erin painted a SUPER cute Halloween treat bowl!! I've really enjoyed getting together for girls' nights and then getting something pretty out of it too. Fun times!

Friday Confessions...

Here's a few confessions of the week...

1. The very last thing I have time for is writing blog posts....in fact, I'm putting off writing my lesson reflections just so I can write this post. However, I don't want to get into the habit of not posting at all! Sooo...this is as good as it's going to get for a while =)

2. This week I had my second observation with my University Supervisor. So, not only did I bribe the kids with donuts to be on their best behavior, I also had one of my most difficult students taken out of the classroom before she arrived...needless to say, it was an AWESOME lesson and observation and I got exceptional comments...sooo I believe both actions were warranted =)

....I'm too tired to think of anything else...lame.

Ten on Tuesday...

Yet...another borrowed blog post idea from Erin =)

1. What’s the one thing you always do when you’re stressed?
Sleep

2. What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever done for a friend?
I'm not really sure. I guess helping my friend hold her head outside of the car window so that she would not throw up inside the car, then carrying her inside her dad's house with the help of some guy she was dating....we were 16. (Hey, but at least I was the sober one)!

3. What cleaning supply could you not live without?
Clorox cleaner...I get really paranoid about bacteria on the kitchen counter.

4. How long do you plan on living where you currently reside?
Right now, who knows?! 1-5 years lol

5. Do you usually vote straight party, a mixture, or not at all?
Generally vote straight party.

6. What’s something that you love to do, but seem to never make time for?
Read

7. What’s your favorite store to buy things for other people?
I buy most things online

8. What’s the weather like around you today?
I wouldn't know! I haven't been outside yet...and it's awesome!

9. What’s the worst book you’ve ever bought and read?
Hmm..not sure. Generally if I don't like it after the 3rd of 4th chapter I quit wasting my time. But the last book I remember not finishing was a Nicholas Sparks book, I don't even remember the name.

10. What’s the closest thing to you that is yellow?
A measuring tape...I had to measure myself for a bridesmaids dress...that was depressing.

I just want to say....

A HUGE THANK YOU goes out to my awesome husband!!

For my first day on Fall break I got to spend it at the spa getting a 90 minute massage, aromatherapy, a scalp massage, and an eye mask treatment. It. Was. Awesome! And the best part is?!...He got me TWO certificates!!! One for now, and one for when I am finished with student teaching!!! Soooo sweet!! It was a much needed day of relaxation and this might just be one of my favorite gifts ever =)
